Fortis Malar Hospital celebrated Children’s Day by organizing ‘The Art Therapy program – Dream a Dream’
Chennai, November 15, 2017 : Fortis Malar Hospital’s Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences organized ‘The Art Therapy program’ on the eve of Children’s Day celebration today. The event was based on the theme of ‘Dream a Dream’ through which the children were given a chance to share their dreams, aspirations and inspirations through their artistic and creative ideas. The event was conducted under expert guidance of Dr Samir Parikh, Director, Mental Health & Behavioural Sciences, Fortis Healthcare Ltd.
The event kick started on a vibrant note, as children visiting the hospital and those admitted in the IPD, eagerly participated in the program. They used varied art material to write, draw and creatively express their vision on a cloud shaped board, which were later displayed on the specially designed Sky Wall made of rainbows. Families and other members were also made to be a part of this exciting event, as they shared their children’s achievements and other positive messages, which were also spread across the colourful wall. The entire premise of Fortis Healthcare was completely transformed into a colourful one, with these children’s dreams reverberating on high positive notes.
Speaking on the event, Dr Samir Parikh said,“In today’s life, children are not immune from the stress of performing. It may have a detrimental impact on the mental health of any child. We must realise that every child is unique in their abilities or interests. It is important that we give them a chance to explore and experience different aspects. Once the child realises his interest, he will not only be happier but also apply his ideas. This will help him evolve his personality ensuring a well round personality. Fortis School Mental Health Program is our special initiative for schools across the country to promote well-being and skills in children”
