Sonalika ITL registers two fold increase in volume in Tamil Nadu over the last two Financial Years
- Overall company has registered 45% growth with Tamil Nadu growth at 154%
- Launches the Sikander series in the regions to boost growth momentum
Chennai, February 13, 2018:India’s youngest tractor brand, International Tractors Limited (ITL), makers of Sonalika Tractors, which has built the World’s No 1 integrated tractor manufacturing plant in Hoshiarpur, today launched its newest and most advanced tractor series, ‘SIKANDER’ in Chennai. Its available across 35 HP to 90HP category and comes equipped with advanced features to provide more power and speed, with minimal fuel consumption(Sabse Kaam Diesel me sabse zyada taqat aur raftar) to aid farmers achieve the highest productivity at reduced operational cost.
A state of the art modern design, the new model offers unparalleled features like HDM engine, HS-HT Gear Box, CCS Workspace and Exso Sensing Hydraulics. Besides this, the new tractor also allows puddling by rotavator, or by full cage wheel, and guarantees unmatched performance by its high axle torque, best optimization of power takeoff (PTO) as well as ground speed. Being a fully sealed tractor, it will ensure a flawless operation in the toughest of puddling conditions and haulage, suitable for the terrains of Tamil Nadu.

The company’s aim is to exponentially increase farmers’ productivity, while ensuring reduced recurrent operational cost to guarantee maximum value proposition to the South Indian farming community. Sonalika offers new implements like Rotavators to help double farmer’s income through enhancing productivity, which has led Sonalika to be chosen by Govt. of India as the contributing partner with Niti Ayog for doubling farmer’s income by year 2022.
“The intensive focus of the Union Budget 2018 on agriculture and the doubling of MSP for all upcoming Kharif crops at 1.5 times the cost of production, is a welcome step. Sonalika plans to expand its presence in the domestic market with a strong focus on the Southern region. While at present, it has 29 authorized dealers in Tamil Nadu, the aim is to ramp up the reach to 50 dealers across the state by next year. We have registered 100% growth in the last two fiscal years and our growth in January 2018 has been 154%, the major boost was due to the auspicious occasion of Pongal, while YTM January, we have grown by 85%. Overall the company has registered 45 % growth in January’18.
Sensing the immense opportunity in the state, Sonalika has set up one skill centre in the to empower the youth and farmers by providing agriculture related skills such as technological advancement in farming, farm mechanization etc. along with various awareness programs. Apart from the Sikander Series, Sonalika ITL is also planning to launch newer products to suit specific needs of Tamil Nadu farmers. For inter-crop cultivation, GT 26 and GT 30 tractors – suitable for crops such as sugarcane and in orchard farming of crops such as banana, lemon & papaya etc. will be introduced, as well.
