Department of Civil Engineering of SRM Valliammai Engineering college in association with Indian Society for Technical Education Faculty & Student Chapter, Institution of Engineers (India)-VEC Student Chapter and Civil Engineers association organized Eighth National Level Students technical symposium Construo’20 on 21st February 2020, Friday at old Seminar hall. SRM Valliammai Engineering College established on 9th September 1999, is run by Valliammai society, founded by Thiru. T. R. Paarivendhar. The college offers nine undergraduate courses and nine post graduate courses in the field of engineering. The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2009 it has well equipped laboratories and well qualified and experienced faculty. The symposium was presided by our Director Dr.T.P.Ganesan, addressed by our Principal Dr. B. Chidhambararajan, felicitated by our Head of the Department Dr. D.Elango and it was inaugurated by Mr. N. Prabakaran, M.E.,FCIArb, PMP, Chief Officer(IT) Information Technology Cell, Highways Department, Chennai. Technical events like paper presentation, Codify,Technical Quiz,Brick Bond and non-technical events like Jenga Blocks,Stack It up, Lucky Royal, Brain Strom were conducted. Around 120 technical papers were received, out of which 30 papers were selected for presentation. Totally 200 Students from various Engineering colleges across Tamil Nadu participated in technical and non-technical events. The best performing students were awarded in the valedictory function.
