Chennai, September 19, 2025
B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science & Technology today announced the launch of the RICS–Crescent Centre of Excellence for Built Environment (CoEBE) together with the Executive Leadership Programme (ELP) in Construction Project Management, marking a major step in reshaping how India nurtures talent and innovation in the built environment. The event gathered senior government officials, business leaders, academics, and members of the press to celebrate Crescent’s growing role in advancing skills, research, and entrepreneurship for a sustainable future.

Founded in 1984, Crescent University has evolved into a multidisciplinary institution of national repute, offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes through 12 Schools and 21+ Departments. Guided by its core values—Technical Competence, Intellectual Character, Commitment to Excellence, and Community Focus—the University blends rigorous academics with research, industry collaboration, and entrepreneurship, consistently earning recognition in NIRF, QS, and THE global rankings.

At the heart of today’s announcement is the new Centre of Excellence for Built Environment (CoEBE), established in collaboration with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Conceived as a bridge between academia, industry, and policy, CoEBE will drive innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation across construction, real estate, and infrastructure. It will provide research and advisory services, publish sector insights, host policy dialogues, and support start-ups in areas such as prop-tech, con-tech, and smart urban solutions. Drawing strength from Crescent’s Schools of Architecture, Infrastructure, and Business, and powered by the Crescent Innovation & Incubation Council (CIIC), CoEBE positions Chennai as a hub for shaping resilient and future-ready cities.

Complementing CoEBE, the Executive Leadership Programme (ELP) in Construction Project Management offers an advanced pathway for mid-career professionals aspiring to global credentials such as MRICS. Delivered by industry specialists, the ELP focuses on project planning, risk management, contract administration, sustainability practices, and emerging digital tools, helping participants lead complex projects with confidence and integrity while aligning with international standards.
