About 1,200 children from 7 states participate in Globalart’s 11th National Competition

Chennai, 5th November 2017: Globalart India’s 11th National Competition ‘KOLOR CHAMP 2017’witnessed participation from almost 1200 children belonging to 7 states across India. Children in the age group of 5-15 years showcased their creativity through their art at the 11th National Competition of Globalart India, which was inaugurated by Dr.Anitha Manohar, Director, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Chennai. Mr.Ajin Thong, Chief Operating Officer of Globalart & Creative Malaysia and Mr. Dinesh Victor, Founder & MD, SIP Academy India participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Anitha Manohar, Director, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Chennai said: “It is very encouraging to see so many young children enthusiastically participating in today’s competition – which I understand will not just be about art but will showcase their unique ideas. It is this freedom and encouragement to think ‘out-of-the-box’ which helps children in growing to be more confident and successful in diverse fields. Increasingly parents are appreciating the importance of creativity and hence are willing to invest time and resources to improve their creative skills.”
Mr. Dinesh Victor, Managing Director, SIP Academy India [of which Globalart India is a unit] stated that greater participation was being witnessed year after year. “Creativity is a critical tool for success in today’s world. And the Globalart programme which nurtures children’s creativity using drawing and colouring (which most children love) has been very well received by both the children as well as their parents. With creativity honed in the early stages of life, these children who are the citizens of tomorrow will be better equipped to find innovative solutions to various complex issues in a highly competitive world.” said Mr. Victor. He also added that “Many of our earlier students especially those who are today successfully pursuing new age careers in interior design, architecture, graphic design and fashion design attribute their success to Globalart.”
Mr. Ajin Thong, Chief Operating Officer of Globalart& Creative Malaysia said that that the “Given the right platform to develop their creative skills – ourstudentswill be far better prepared to innovate and handle challenges in every sphere of lifeand emerge as thought leaders of tomorrow.Our role in this endeavour is hence very satisfying.” said Mr. Thong.
ABOUT GLOBALART
Launched in India by SIP Academy India in 2005, the Globalart programme is a one-of-its-kind international creative art programme for children in the age category of 5 – 15 years. Today, Globalart India operates through their 130 centresin 7 states of India with over 130 centres and has benefitted over 50,000 children. The programme, originally developed by Globalart Malaysia, is being currently run in 16 countries and has trained almost 250,000 children across the globe. Globalart is a complete, systematic and efficient art programme aimed to develop the creative potential of children. The well-researched and structured syllabus aims to provide children with formal yet child friendly art training using creative challenges. National & International Recognition
- The W.W.F. uploaded the creatives of Globalart children on their website for the ‘Save the Tiger’ Campaign and for ‘Climate Change’ campaign.
- Globalart Children’s creatives were displayed at the 2nd World Ministerial Conference with delegates from 13 Tiger range countries at Bali Indonesia in 2010. W.W.F Indonesia warded certificates of appreciation to Globalart as well the students whose creatives were displayed.
- Special postcards featuring Globalart students’ works with appreciation messages to Tiger Rangers had been released by W.W.F. in 2012.
- Limca Book of Records certification for conducting the 1st International ‘Kolor Champ’ in India. Certification for Art competition with participants from most countries on Nov 27th, 2010 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Hyderabad, wherein 584 children participated. The children were from 7 countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, USA and India). The theme for the Competition theme was ‘One World.’
