Women’s Day celebration at VEC
Women’s Day 2020 was celebrated in a grand manner by the women of SRM Valliammai engineering College. The event was organized by the final year girls along with their team of co-ordinators. The event began with a cooking competition for the teaching staffs of various departments. They participated with a lot of enthusiasm and prepared a variety of dishes which impressed the judge, Mr Gopinath , chef SRM hotel management and Dr.H.Krishnan, Prof and HoD, Physics , SRM Valliammai Engineering College. The chef made a proud comment that he decided to inculcate the techniques in his class. It continued on with an event for the students. They were required to dress one of their team members as a woman they imagine themselves to be or as one of their inspirations. The girls put in their best effort and managed to bring in extraordinary results. Next came a game for the non teaching staff. There was a solo classical dance, a group dance and our beautiful singers representing women in the means of women centric songs. The MBA girls performed a ‘Corporate Walk’ representing how women dress up in the corporate world. The MBA staff also performed a very relatable skit showing the beautiful relationship between a mother in law and daughter in law. Finally the Physics department staff played an enthralling video showing the role of women of SRM Valliammai engineering College including our backbone – The principal, vice principal and our male staff. The event was celebrated as an all women event including photographers and Coordinators. It was a celebration of womanhood.
