Kia India clocks 24,025-unit domestic dispatches; crosses the 6 Lakh overall sales mark in just over 3 years

69% Y-o-Y growth over the same period last year

  • Seltos & Sonet contributes 88% to the total KIN sales till date

CHENNAI: Kia India, one of the fastest-growing car manufacturers in the country, registered 24,025-unit sales in November 2022, its third-best sales performance till date. The company recorded a growth of 69% on a year-on-year scale, as the carmaker sold 14,214 units in the corresponding month last year. The Seltos led the sales chart for Kia, with 9,284 vehicles dispatched in the previous month. The Sonet, Carens, and the Carnival followed and recorded monthly sales of 7834, 6360 and 419 units, respectively. The company also delivered 128 units of EV6 in the domestic market, taking the total EV6 deliveries to 296 units

With this, Kia India surpassed another milestone of crossing 6 Lakh unit sales mark in just over 3 years. When combined, Seltos and Sonet contributed 88% to KIN’s total sales tally till date, while Carens quickly grabbed a 10% share in just 10 months since its launch in February 2022.

Hardeep Singh Brar, Vice President and Head of Sales & Marketing, Kia India said, “We are glad to post healthy sales figures throughout this year due to improved customer sentiment and pent-up demand. The commencement of the third shift at our state-of-the-art Anantapur Plant earlier this year and gradually improving supply chain has also helped us streamline the delivery period and meet our customers’ expectations. However, we will remain observant of dynamic market conditions.”

With improved market sentiment and pent-up demand, Kia India has already sold 2,39,372 cars in India in the first 11 months itself with one full month still to go. Notably, the company had sold a total of 1,81,583 cars in CY2021.
